SRR at ICR 2012 – The XVIth International Congress on Rheology

The 16th International Congress on Rheology, the most important scientific event in the field, with a periodicity of four years, took lace in Lisbon (Portugal), during 5-10 August 2012.

It registered over 950 participants representing 27 worldwide societies of rheology. Our Romanian Society of Rheology was present with five members, and scientific contribution was observed in 4 and 3 oral communications and posters. This Congress was attended by the following SRR members: Corneliu Balan (Vice President SRR, UP Bucharest), Maria Bercea (SRR Secretary, Petru Poni Institute, Iasi), Diana Broboan? (UP Bucharest), Daniela Cobla? (drd. UP Bucharest), Roland Kádár (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology).

Scientific papers were presented in 16 sections and 5 poster sessions, and also many key note lectures and 6 plenary lectures were held:

A special section was dedicated to Professor Ken Walters FRS, in order to celebrate his 80th birthday anniversary. At this section, Corneliu Balan was also invited to hold a presentation, as Vice-President of SRR.
